 Thank You from the Buns & Donation Update! We were so grateful for the excitement and support around these buns trying fresh foods for (very likely) the first time in their lives. While Snowdrop was slow to warm to the strange textures and smells, she has become an absolute herb fiend over the past few days. She has been hopping in excitement when we come up to her and she is regularly enjoying cilantro, parsley, and dill. She has also gotten very interested in kale and even nibbled some apple! Strawberry is an a p p l e g i r l. She loves them, she can't enough of them! Because you were all so generous, we were able to freely buy tons of varied and high-quality produce. It was a pleasure to find that no matter how frivolous we thought we were... these bunnies are cheap dates! They are still working through their bounty like little lushes with plenty to still go. As a result, we are so excited to foot the comparatively tiny veg bill and pass on all of the donations to Beagle Freedom Project. We decided to cover the cost of vegetables and were able to donate all funds, $115, to the Beagle Freedom Project. Snowdrop is available for adoption (read about her here) and Strawberry's obituary can be found here.  The Pig Show was such a wonderful experience and success! We received so many amazing art donations and raised a total of $578. The $578 raised from the art sales and donations were split evenly and led to $289 in donations were made to each of two organizations: 1) a local Farm Animal Sanctuary in Portland, OR and 2) The Open Sanctuary Project. I was thrilled by the turnout and that so many people brought pig art home. Thank you to the artists, pig stewards, friends, families, far away donors, and Piers at Dorsa Brevia for making this such a successful and wonderful event. We are so grateful we were able to squeeze into Dorsa Brevia, as it has since closed.   |
