She studied oceanography before taking an extended detour managing the content team for an education startup. These days, you can find her caring for dogs of all kinds and needs, chasing after foster animals, and finding a new audiobook about animal intelligence. Almost as much as she loves animals and nature, she loves a really good system.

Zuriel van Belle, Vice President & TreasurerZuriel van Belle is a geographer focused on animals, plants, and places. She is the director of the Portland Urban Coyote Project, a community science, research, and education project. Her interests include digging in the dirt, downshifting, and dogs.

Atalia Lopez, SecretaryAtalia Lopez is an Australian transplant, movie fan, and chronic pickleball player based in sunny Southern California where she lives with her wife, five chickens, two cats, and two weiner dogs. She teaches classes on the intersection of film, literature, and the urban environment at Chapman University.
